The notion of an artificial reality is lousy. Artificial realities have existed for as long as there's been a reality.

We're still in a very primitive stage. Artificial reality is still very artificial. It's more or less confined to games, or to remote operation. It's still going to take some time before we're in a free situation, where you don't have all this cumbersome extra gear. We're talking about maybe a million times greater transmission capacity than at present.

We have still a long way to go before we are able to take adive in an aquarium.

The move to a digital world will involve operating a number ofthings in the virtual mode. You no longer have to wear a helmet and gloves, and it can happen in the Internet. Different things will go digital. In that sense this can be a current phenomenon.
